A key part of the role will be developing technical drawings using Vectorworks, ensuring that audio systems are carefully planned, coordinated with other technical disciplines, and ready for successful implementation onsite.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support the technical planning and design of audio systems for Event Production projects, from initial concept and tender stages through detailed design, production, installation, and delivery.
- Translate project briefs, creative concepts, and operational requirements into practical and technically sound audio solutions.
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings in Vectorworks, including system layouts, equipment positioning, cable routing, infrastructure requirements, rigging interfaces, and other relevant technical details.
- Prepare audio system designs, signal flow diagrams, equipment specifications, technical schematics, patching information, and supporting technical documentation.
- Carry out technical calculations and planning required to ensure appropriate system coverage, performance, equipment selection, infrastructure, and integration.
- Coordinate audio designs with other technical disciplines, including lighting, video, rigging to ensure fully integrated technical solutions.
- Review venue drawings, architectural plans, production designs, and other project documentation to identify technical requirements, constraints, interfaces, and potential risks.
- Support the preparation of equipment lists, technical aspects, scope of work, and supplier/subcontractor requirements.
- Work closely with project team to ensure technical solutions align with project scope, programme, budget, and operational requirements.
- Support tendering and pre-production activities by developing technical concepts, drawings, specifications, and equipment requirements for proposed projects.
- Liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and resolve design or coordination matters.
- Review supplier and subcontractor technical submissions and drawings to ensure alignment with the approved technical design and project requirements.
- Identify potential technical risks, clashes, and installation challenges at an early stage and develop practical solutions to mitigate them.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing packages and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating design changes and project updates as required.
- Support project teams during installation, commissioning, rehearsals, and onsite delivery where required, providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.
- Ensure technical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and BeWunder quality standards.
- Contribute to the continuous development of technical planning standards, drawing templates, workflows, and best practices within the Design & Engineering team.
- Stay informed about developments in professional audio technology, system design, software, equipment, and industry practices.
