Your mission
Technical Expertise and Oversight:
- Lead in setting up, maintaining, and operating audio equipment for a variety of events.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment when necessary to ensure seamless operations at all times.
- Ensure that all audio setups meet the technical and quality standards.
- Provide on-site technical support for live events, adjusting sound settings as needed.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Support junior team members, guiding them in proper audio equipment handling, setup, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with the Crew and other units (e.g., video, lighting) to ensure that audio work aligns with other technical elements of event production.
- Train new team members, ensuring they are familiar with the latest audio technology and best practices.
Sound Design and Quality Control:
- Oversee the mixing of live sound, balancing levels, clarity, and other factors to create the best possible audio experience for the audience.
- Adjust sound levels during live events, ensuring consistency and preventing issues like feedback or distortion.
- Work closely with the project management team to understand specific sound needs for events and adapt sound design as necessary.
Equipment Management:
- Manage the inventory of audio equipment, ensuring that it is well-maintained, operational, and up-to-date.
- Oversee the testing of equipment before and after events or sessions, ensuring functionality and reliability.
- Ensure all audio equipment is safely transported, set up, and packed away according to industry safety standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as the point of contact for any audio-related issues or queries, liaising with other units to resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, technical planners, technicians and other team members to ensure that the audio design meets the overall vision for the project.
- Provide feedback and technical advice to other team members to ensure the team operates efficiently.
